Our Client is the largest manufacturer of their product in the United States and it was founded in 1895. Since the construction of a new facility in 1998 most of their production has been automated.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are searching for a Plant Manager for one of our OEM client’s in the North East Texas area. As the Plant Manager, you'll be at the helm of a large plant responsible for ensuring safety, product quality, and overall operational excellence. This role is not just about managing a plant; it's about leading a dynamic transformation, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and modernizing processes to drive success.
The Plant Manager is responsible for leading with results, developing and communicating a strategic vision for the facility and guiding it towards a brighter future. Collaborate with departmental managers to streamline manufacturing processes, ensuring timely and cost-effective results.
The Plant Manager will have to take charge of the operational budget, implementing cost-effective systems, streamlining/standardizing workflow, and creating a collaborative team environment to increase productivity. As the Plant Manager you will identify and drive continuous improvement efforts, optimizing inventory, increasing plant capacity, and improving process planning capabilities. You would be expected to develop and deliver performance and mix flexibility with the goal of achieving manufacturing excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Exhibit a strong work ethic and focus on Lean Manufacturing and oversee safety, quality, production, maintenance and packaging and distribution
P&L management. Develop and administer operational budgets and activities
Direct and manage resources to implement tactical business plans
Communicate the vision, strategy, and objectives for the plant
Set clear and consistent expectations for performance and leverage resources available to accomplish goals
Hold people accountable for adhering to processes and protocols
Develop a culture of respect and empowerment
Lead maintenance department to coordinate preventive maintenance requirements to ensure machinery and mechanical equipment is operational
Stage work and recalibrate throughout the day as necessary to meet customer demands
Identify talent and show ownership of all aspects of plant staffing and retention
Coordinate and communicate with Sales, Supply Chain departments to align resources and coordinate work
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience managing overall operations (safety, quality, production, logistics, maintenance, P&L) in an industrial manufacturing environment
Led operational transformations utilizing continuous improvement
Experience with moderate to complex operations involving materials and manufacturing processes
A proven track record of engaging employees and fostering a strong safety culture
Experience in managing budgets, owning cost centers, and exercising diligent cost control
COMPENSATION
Base Salary, DOE, between $130-135K+
