The Electrical Engineer is an integral part of our technical team supporting the sales and manufacturing process as well as driving product innovation across their Company’s many product lines and market segments. This Engineer will be responsible for new equipment design and documentation and sales order and manufacturing support. Position will be a member of various process improvement and innovation project teams and will assist in developing and establishing various processes and procedures with the objective being to maximize and streamline engineering and production efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead new product development projects from product conception through production launch.
Provide hands-on electrical engineering support and solutions to manufacturing and sales
Provide technical and engineering support for active sales orders completing custom designs, technical calculations, BOM’s, and drawing requirements
Point of Contact for sales, service and manufacturing for assigned sales orders and projects
Lead or Participate in key product and process improvement initiatives
Develop and Implement cost reduction and continuous improvement actions
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
5+ Years of relevant engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Track record of engineering and technical support in truck manufacturing or bodybuilding industries
Strong understanding of the product development process and the use of project management tools
Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems involved with on-highway and industrial equipment
Strong analytical, problem solving, and process improvement skills
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
Proven professional qualities including strong initiative, integrity, and the desire/ability to work in a team environment
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing initiatives (continuous improvement and Six Sigma) DESIRED
Knowledge of configuring Heavy Duty Truck calibrations a PLUS
Knowledge of control systems, PLC, CAN BUS, etc.
